MDPL ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

We collect the following types of information:

• Account Information: When you sign in using Google Authentication (Android) or Apple Sign-In (iOS), we collect your name, email address, and profile picture.
• Profile Information: Your hiking profile including display name and preferences you choose to set.
• Location Data: GPS coordinates during your hiking activities to provide navigation and tracking features. This data is collected only when you actively use the app during an adventure.
• Hiking History: Records of your adventures including destinations visited, routes taken, distance traveled, elevation gain, and duration.
• Photos: Images you capture during your adventures, including their location metadata (geotags).
• Usage Data: App interaction data collected through Amplitude for analytics purposes, including features used, screens viewed, and app performance metrics.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Provide and maintain our navigation and tracking services
• Display your hiking statistics and profile
• Enable live location sharing with other hikers in your group
• Store and display your adventure photos
• Improve our app through usage analytics
• Send important updates about the app and your account

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is securely stored using Google Cloud and Firebase infrastructure. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

Map data is provided by Mapbox and is subject to their privacy practices.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties.

Your data is only used within MDPL services. The only exceptions are:

• Service providers (Google Cloud, Firebase, Mapbox, Amplitude) who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements
• When required by law or legal process
• Live location data shared with other hikers, only when you explicitly enable this feature

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data stored in our systems
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Opt out of analytics tracking

6. Account Deletion

You can request to delete your account and all associated data by:

• Contacting us via TikTok: @mdplappofficial

Upon receiving your request, we will permanently delete your account and all associated data within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

Our app is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
